Finding My Way Back to the Rosary

Hi, I'm Licia, the maker behind Gifts of Faith.

I was raised Catholic, but I spent more than 20 years away from the Church. During one of the darkest seasons of my life, I found myself asking God for peace, guidance, and the strength to keep going.

Around that time, my sister gave my children rosaries. My children weren't baptized, although they attended Catholic school. Until then, they had shown little interest in the Catholic faith that has been deeply rooted in my Brazilian family's life and heritage for generations.

My son was going through a difficult season of his own and looking for comfort. When he received his rosary, he asked me to teach them how to pray.

That touched my heart deeply.

To teach my children, I had to return to the Rosary myself.

The Rosary Led Me Home

As I began praying again, I found something I desperately needed: hope.

Through prayer and Our Lady's intercession, I found strength to face the battles in my life and courage to begin changing what needed to change.

The Rosary didn't simply bring me back to prayer.

It helped bring me back to life.

I grew closer to Our Lady, and she continually pointed me toward her Son. Slowly, I found myself returning to my faith and learning to trust God again.

Somewhere along that journey, I felt called to make a rosary with my own hands. I had never made one before.

One rosary became another, and Gifts of Faith began.

The Power Is in the Prayer

I don't make rosaries simply because they are beautiful. I make them to be prayed with.

The power doesn't come from the beads themselves. They are a tool that guides us through the prayers and mysteries of the Rosary, helping our hands keep our place while our hearts and minds contemplate the life of Jesus.

The power is in the prayer.

Through the Rosary, we bring our intentions to Our Lady and ask for her intercession and maternal care. In turn, Mary does what she has always done: she leads us to her Son.

I know what can happen when a rosary finds its way into someone's hands because one found its way into my family's hands when we needed it.

My sister could never have known where that simple gift would lead.

Today, I make rosaries to extend that same invitation to others: pick up the beads, begin to pray, and let Our Lady lead you closer to Jesus.

You never know where one rosary might lead.

Mine helped lead me home.
